This is a Kannada movie. I watched it in Tamil dub. First time I saw it on a nice rainy day on Amazon Prime. But now suddenly I saw that the full movie is available on YouTube, so I watched it again after three years. I got the same thrilling feeling even now. Talking about the actors, he is a South Indian actor, and when I searched on Google it showed Vijay Raghavendra. That's all I know about the actor who played Seetharaam. I was not interested in knowing what other movies he has acted in before, because the story itself is the main focus here, so I didn't feel like learning about the actors. So let's go directly into the movie.

According to the story, Seetharaam, an SI, gets transferred from a city to a hill village. On the very day he arrives, an unpleasant incident happens. Since his quarters are not in good condition, the department gives him a rented house, and a robbery happens there on the second day itself. Because of this, people become unhappy and feel that if the police cannot protect themselves, how will they protect the public. Feeling very upset, Seetharaam starts searching who did it. He easily guesses who might have done it, and that itself gives us involvement in the movie. That means he can predict who the thieves might be. Not by names, but by their profession. While other police officers think outsiders must have done it, because no clue was found in any robbery, Seetharaam believes only locals could have done it easily. Because only they can watch the house, understand its structure, and guess when people are sleeping or not at home. When he explains this, the film clearly shows the people who match that idea.

Then you may think, what is big in this, they already showed the thieves, so the rest is about how the police catch them?

Not at all. After that, a shocking incident happens which really twists the story. Both these men get involved, and the story becomes more interesting. The people who acted as thieves look like very normal people, which is a strong point of the movie. Next is the locations. They are as beautiful as village locations in Kerala movies. Especially the rainy night scenes are mostly very beautiful. Even the daytime scenes are pleasing to the eyes, which is a good thing. Even though I already knew the story and ending when I watched it the second time, the locations made me stay connected and watch the full movie again.

The wives of police officers are getting killed one after another. Just like the earlier robberies, these also happen at different times without any connection. There is no link between the officers and these murders. But the police officers think it is the work of a psycho killer. That also turns out to be false. This is not the work of a psycho killer. Seetharaam finds that it is an act of revenge. But while searching for the reason, some other murders happen involving different people, which breaks that theory too and creates more confusion. The police are not able to move even one inch forward in the case.

Everything is actually connected. But when they see only the present incidents separately, they fail to understand the full danger. The real problem is that the one getting affected and the one protecting are the same person. Since the police themselves have many chances to find this out, the answer is also there. In reality, Seetharaam and Benoy are different. Seetharaam is the police officer, and Benoy is the villain. The whole story becomes interesting in finding out who Benoy really is.

Now I heard that a second part is being made. If it comes, I will definitely watch it. Because this is a very good thriller movie. Don't miss it!

அப்டின்னு ஒரு கன்னடப்படம். சரி நான் தமிழ் டப்லதான் பாத்தேன். ஆரம்பத்துல ஒருவாட்டி நல்ல மழை நாள்ல அமேசான் ப்ரைம்லதான் பாத்தேன். ஆனா இப்ப அகஸ்மாத்தா, யூட்யூப்ல முழுப்படமும் இருக்கறதா காட்டிச்சு. அதனாலதான் ரெண்டாவது வாட்டி மூனு வருசம் கழிச்சுப் பாத்தேன். அப்ப இருந்த அதே திரில் ஃபீல் இப்பவும் கிடைச்சது. நடிகர்கள்னு பாத்தா, அவர் ஒரு சவுத் இண்டியன், கூகுள் பண்ணதுல விஜய் ராகவேந்திரான்னு காட்டிச்சு. அவ்ளோதான் சீதாராம் பினோயா நடிச்ச நடிகரைப் பத்தித் தெரிஞ்சிகிட்டேன். இதுக்கு முன்னாடி எந்தப் படத்துல நடிச்சிருக்காரு என்ன ஏதுன்னெல்லாம் தெரிஞ்சிக்க ஆர்வமில்லை. ஏன்னா, கதை மட்டுமே இதுல பிரதானமா இருந்ததால, நடிகர்களைப் பத்தித் தெரிஞ்சிக்கறதுல ஆர்வம் போகல. அதனால நேரடியா படத்துக்குள்ள போயிடுவோம் வாங்க.

கதைப்படி, நகர்ப்புறத்துல இருந்து, மலைக் கிராமம் ஒன்னுக்கு மாத்தலாகி வற்றாரு சீதாராம் எஸ்.ஐ. வந்தன்னிக்கே ஒரு அதிருப்திகரமான சம்பவம். அவருக்குன்னு குவார்ட்டர்ஸ் பழுதாயிருந்ததால வாடகை வீடு ஒன்னை டிப்பார்ட்மெண்ட் ஒதுக்கியிருக்க, அதுல கொள்ளைச் சம்பவம் ஒன்னு நடக்குது. வந்த ரெண்டாவது நாளே. இதனால மக்கள் எல்லாரும் அதிருப்தியாக, தன்னையே காப்பாத்திக்கத் தெரியாத காவல்துறை எப்டி மக்களைக் காப்பாத்தும்ங்கற மனக்குறைதான். இதனால ரொம்பவே மனசொடஞ்சு போற சீதாராம், அது யார் என்னன்னு தேட ஆரம்பிக்கிறாரு. இதை யாரால செஞ்சிருக்க முடியும்ங்கறதை ஈஸியா கணிச்சிடறாரு. அதுவே நமக்கு ஒரு இன்வால்வ்மெண்டை படத்துல கொடுக்குது. அதாவது திருடங்க யாரா இருக்க  முடியும்ங்கறதை அவரால யூகிக்க முடியுது. அதாவது பெயர்களை வச்சில்ல. தொழிலை வச்சு. ஏன்னா, மத்த காவலதிகாரிகள் எல்லாரும், இதை வேற ஊர் ஆளுங்கதான் செஞ்சிருக்க முடியும்ன்னு நினைக்கறாங்க. காரணம் நடந்த எந்த கொள்ளைச் சம்பவங்கள்லயும், ஒரு சின்ன தடயமும் கிடைக்காததனால. ஆனா சீதாராம், இதை உள்ளூர் ஆளுங்களாலதான் ஈஸியா செய்ய முடியும், காரணாம், அவங்கதான், ஈஸியா வீடை நோட்டம் ப்விட்டு அதோட அமைப்பு இப்படி இருக்கும். வீட்டுல இந்த சமயங்கள்ல எல்லாரும், தூங்கிட்டோ, வெளியவோ போயிருப்பாங்கன்னு அவங்க சந்திருக்கற சமயத்தை கணிக்க முடியறது இந்த ஊர் ஆளுங்களாலதான் அப்டின்னு. அதை அவர் சொல்லும்போதே அதுக்குண்டான ஆளுங்களையும் நமக்குத் தெளிவா காட்டிடறாங்க.

அப்புறம் அதுல என்ன பெருசா இருக்குது, கொள்ளையடிச்சவங்களைக் காட்டியாச்சு, அடுத்து என்ன அவங்களை எப்படிக் கண்டுபுடிக்கிது காவல்துறைன்னுதான மீதிக்கதை?

இல்லவே இல்லை. அதுக்கப்புறம்தான் நம்மை நிஜமாவே சுத்தல்ல விடுற ஒரு சம்பவம் நடக்குது. அதுல இந்த இரண்டு ஆளுங்களுமே சம்பந்தப்பட, கதை இன்னும் சுவாரஸ்யமாகுது. இதுல கொள்ளைக்காரர்களா நடிச்சவங்க, அதுக்கு ஏத்த சாதாரணா மனிதர்களா தேர்ந்தெடுத்து நடிக்க வச்சது இன்னும் படத்துக்கு ஒரு பலம்ன்னே சொல்லலாம். ரெண்டாவது அந்த லொக்கேசன்ஸ். அது எல்லாமே கேரளப்படங்களுக்கு இணையான அழகான ஊர்ப்புறத்து லொக்கேசன்கள். அதிலேயும், மழை பெய்யும் சமயத்தில் இரவு நேரக் காட்சிகள்தான், பெரும்பாலும் அழகாக அமைந்திருக்கும். இதில் பகல் நேரக் காட்சிகள் கூட கண்ணில் ஒத்திக் கொள்ளும்படி அமைந்தது, ஒரு நல்ல விசயம் என்றேதான் சொல்ல வேண்டும். இரண்டாவது முறை பார்க்கிற எனக்கு ஏற்கனவே கதையும், முடிவும் தெரியும் என்றாலும், என்னை படத்துடன் ஒன்ற வைத்து மீண்டும் ஒரு முறை முழுதாகப் பார்க்க வைத்தது அந்த லொக்கேசன்கள் தான்.

மேற்கொண்டு ஏற்கனவே படம் பார்த்தவர்கள் மற்றும் தொடரவும். அப்படிப் பார்க்காதவர்கள், யூட்யூபிலோ, அல்லது அமேசனா ப்ரைமிலோ முழுப்படத்தையும் பார்த்துவிட்டு வந்து இதனைப் படிக்கலாம். ஸ்பாய்லர் அலெர்ட்.

பதிவு முழுவதுமே ஸ்பாய்லராக இருக்கலாம். இது முக்கியமான ஸ்பாய்லர். அதனாலதான் மேற்கூறிய டிஸ்கிளைமர்.

காவலதிகாரிகளின் மனைவிமார்கள் தொடர்ந்து கொல்லப்படுகிறார்கள். இதுவும் மேற்கூறிய தொடர் கொள்ளைச் சம்பவங்கள் போல ஒன்றுக்கொன்று தொடர்பில்லாத கால இடைவெளியில். இதற்கும், அந்தந்த சம்பந்தப்பட்ட காவலதிகாரிகளுக்கும் எந்தத் தொடர்பும் இல்லை. ஆனால், இது சைக்கோ கொலைகாரனின் கைவரிசை என்று அந்தந்த காவலதிகாரிகள் நினைக்கிறார்கள். அதுவும் பொய்த்துப் போகிறது. இது சைக்கோ கொலையாளியின் கைவரிசையும் அல்ல. அதையும் சீதாராம் கண்டுபிடிக்கிறார், பழிவாங்கும் முயற்சி என்று. ஏன் என்ற கேள்விக்கான தேடலின்போது அந்தத் தியரியையும் உடைக்குமாறு சில கொலைகள் வேறு சில ஆட்கள் கொல்லப்பட இன்னும் குழப்பமே மிஞ்சுகிறது. காவலதிகாரிகளால் ஒரு இன்ச் கூட முன்னேற முடிவதில்லை அந்த வழக்கில்.

எல்லாமே ஒன்றோடொன்று தொடர்புடையதுதான். ஆனால், தனித்து துண்டாக இப்போதைய சம்பவங்களை மட்டும் மனதில் கொண்டு நோக்கும் போது, மொத்த பயங்கரத்தையும் அவர்கள் உணர்வதில்லை. ஏனென்றால், பாதிக்கப்படுவதும் பாதுகாப்பதும் ஒரே ஆள்தான் என்பதனால்தான் இந்தப் பிரச்சினை. அதைக் கண்டு பிடிக்கவும் எக்கச்சக்க வாய்ப்பு உள்ளவர்களும் காவலர்களே என்பதால், எதனால் என்பதற்கும் விடை கிடைக்கிறது. உண்மையில் சீதாராம் வேறு பினோய் வேறு. சீதாராம் காவலர், பினோய் வில்லன் அவ்வளவுதான் கதை. யார் அந்த பினோய் என்பதைக் கண்டுபிடிப்பதில்தான் இத்தனைக்கும் விடை சுவாரஸ்யமாக நகர்கிறது.

இப்போது இரண்டாவது பாகம் தயாராகிக் கொண்டிருப்பதாக ஒரு தகவல் கிடைத்தது. அப்படி வந்தால் பார்ப்பது நிச்சயம். ஏனென்றால் இது மிகவும் நல்ல திரில்லர் படம். தவற விட வேண்டாம் மக்களே!

Thadayam

is a crime thriller web series. No, not the 1997 film starring Ramki. This is completely different. And it's not a movie, it's a web series. The cast includes Samuthirakani and Shivada among others. Shivada, if you're wondering who she is, she played the villain in the 2017 film Adhe Kangal. In this series, there is no heroine as such, meaning she is not paired romantically with Samuthirakani. Instead, she plays a female lead character who is his superior officer. Alright then, let's see how this web series actually is.

As per the story, everything happens in 1999, a time when mobile phones were not in common use. The setting is a village on the border of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. On one side of the road is Tamil Nadu, and on the other side is Andhra. Naturally, there are two police stations, one for each side. On the Tamil Nadu side, two separate double murders take place. In both cases, it's husband and wife who are killed. Someone has broken into their homes and beaten them to death. When the police question the neighbors, Two people have been beaten to death here, did you hear or see anything?, the villagers respond saying they didn't hear a sound. Yet, the police confirm one thing, the murders happened in the early pre-dawn hours, when the victims were in deep sleep. As the police slowly gather clues and follow leads, they take the evidence to the Andhra police station for inquiry. That's when we, who are casually watching and counting along, are shocked to learn, Oh, is it just four there? We've got seventy-six here! That revelation hits hard. And there's one more thing about this, I'll tell you that at the end.

Samuthirakani plays an ordinary police officer who is the one uncovering these clues. He brings along his trademark mannerisms, especially that intense look. When he plays a good man, he is extraordinarily good. When he plays a villain, he is outrageously villainous. For me, there are two of his villain roles that instantly come to mind, not just in the mind, but in the heart. Because those characters went beyond the mind and settled in the heart. One is his role as Kanagu in Subramaniapuram. The next is as Appala Naidu in Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, where he absolutely dominated the screen. Those who've watched it will understand. But here? He plays an excessively good man. And on top of that, a police officer. Almost like a generous benefactor, helping every officer who joins duty with him, supporting them to grow step by step, until they rise above him in rank… and eventually turn against him. Even then, he just smiles silently, opts for voluntary retirement, continues doing his duty for the remaining days, and spends the rest of his time taking tuition classes for school kids. Wait a bit. Let me move aside, process my feelings, and then come back to talk about Shivada.

Shivada, it feels like she acted with an expression that says, I've given my call sheet, let me just finish this. And she carries this constant look as though she has lost something important, not sure why. Then there's the guy who plays the ghost in Demonte Colony, I don't know his name, shown here as Shivada's romantic interest. They've tried all sorts of styling tricks, shaving his beard in different designs, framing him carefully, to make him look convincing as her pair. But he just doesn't give off the vibe of a mature man. With that baby-faced look, it feels more like, “Okay fine, maybe he was just free on those dates and available at this location.” Let it be.

Another important thing, if you're showing a story set in 1995 and 1999, that period detailing is crucial. They could have recreated it so authentically. But somehow, it feels like something is missing. After all, this isn't just a crime thriller, it's a revenge-driven whodunit involving dual psycho killers. Think of the ways this could have been crafted! But instead… it's been handled in some other way.

Remember I said I'd tell you one last thing? In this so-called whodunit, they reveal who the “who” is right in the very first episode. That's it. Even if they knew how to build and portray those characters gradually, they ended up showing what should not have been shown, right at the beginning. Once that's done… the suspense is already dead!

அப்டின்னு ஒரு கிரைம் திரில்லர் வெப்சீரிஸ். இல்லேல்ல. இது 1997ல ராம்கி நடிச்சி வெளியான சினிமா இல்ல. இது மொத்தமா வேற. தவிர இது சினிமா இல்ல, வெப்சீரிஸ். நடிகர்கள்னு பாத்தா சமுத்திரக்கனி அண்ட் ஷிவதா மற்ரும் பலர் நடிச்சது. ஷிவதா யாருன்னா, அதே கண்கள்னு ஒரு படம் 2017ல ரிலீஸ் ஆச்சில்ல அதோட வில்லிதான் இந்த ஷிவதா. இதுல ஹீரோயின் இல்ல, அதவாது சமுத்திரக்கனிக்கு ஜோடியா இல்லாம அவங்களுக்கு மேலதிகாரியா நடிச்சிருக்கற பெண் முதன்மை கதாபாத்திரம். சரி இந்த வெப்சீரிஸ் எப்டியிருக்குன்னு பார்க்கலாம் வாங்க.

கதைப்படி கதை நடக்கறது எல்லாமே 1999ல. அதாவது மொபைல் ஃபோன் புழக்கத்துல இல்லாத காலத்துல நடக்கற கதை. ஆந்திராவுக்கும், தமிழ்நாட்டுக்கும் பார்டர்ல ஒரு கிராமம். ரோட்டுக்கு இந்தப்பக்கம் தமிழ்நாடு, அந்தப்பக்கம் ஆந்திரா. அப்ப ரெண்டு பக்கமும், ரெண்டு போலிஸ் ஸ்டேசன் இருக்கும்ல. அதுல இந்தப்பக்கம் தமிழ்நாட்டுல ரெண்டு ரெண்டு கொலைங்க விழுகுது. ரெண்டுமே புருஷன் பொண்டாட்டிங்க. வீடு புகுந்து அடிச்சே கொன்னிருக்கானுக. அக்கம்ப்பக்கத்துல வந்து, ஏய்யா இங்க ரெண்டு பேர்த்த அடிச்சே கொன்னிருக்காங்க, உங்களுக்கு எதாவது விவரம் தெரியுமான்னு விசாரிச்சா, இல்லங்க அப்டி எதுவும் சத்தமே கேக்ககலேங்கன்னு ஊர் மக்கள் சொல்லவும், அப்பவும் ஒரு விசயத்த போலிஸ் கன்பார்ம் பண்ணுது. அதாவது வீடு புகுந்து அவங்களயெல்லாம் அடிச்சுக் கொன்னது நல்லா அசந்து தூங்கிட்டிருக்கற விடிகாலைக்கு முந்தின சமயம்னு. இப்டியே ஒன்னொன்னா கண்டுபுடிச்ச போலிஸ்க்கு சில தடயங்கள் கிடைக்க, அதை வச்சு ஆந்திரா போலிஸ் ஷ்டேசன்ல போய் விசாரிச்சா, ஓ அங்க நாலுதானா இங்க எழுவத்தாறுங்கன்னு கவுண்டிங்ல நாங்கதான்லு ஒசத்துலுன்னு சொல்ல பார்த்துகிட்டிருக்கற நம்ம எல்லாரும் சேர்ந்து ஷாக்காவுறோம். ஆச்சா, இதுக்கு மேல ஒரு விசயம். அதைக் கடைசில சொல்றேன்.

இதுல தடயங்களக் கண்டுபுடிக்கிற சாதாரண காவல்துறை அதிகாரியா நடிச்சிருக்காரு சமுத்திரக்கனி அண்ணன். அவருக்கே உரித்தான ரெண்டு மேனரிசங்கள் இருக்கும் பார்வை உட்பட. அதாவது நல்லவனா நடிச்சா, அதுல அநியாயத்துக்கு நல்லவனா இருப்பாரு. வில்லனா நடிச்சா அநியாயத்துக்கு வில்லனா மேனரிசம் காட்டுவாரு. எனக்குத் தெரிஞ்சி அவர் வில்லத்தனத்துல நச்சுன்னு ரெண்டு படம் எப்பவுமே மனசுல டக்குன்னு ஞாபத்துக்கு வரும். மைண்ட்ல இல்ல. மனசுல. ஏன்னா அதெல்லாம், மைண்டைத் தாண்டி மனசுல போய் உக்காந்த கேரக்ட்டர்ஸ். ஒன்னு சுப்ரமணியபுரம்ல கனகுவா நடிச்சிருப்பாரு. அதுக்கடுத்தப்டியா அல வைகுந்தபுராமுலூவுல அப்பள நாயுடுவா காத்த உறிஞ்சு எடுத்திருப்பாரு. அது படம் பாத்தவங்களுக்குப் புரியும். இதுல என்ன, அநியாயத்துக்கு நல்லவனா நடிச்சிருக்காரா, அதுவுமில்லாம போலிஸ் வேறயா, அப்டியே வாரி வழங்கற வள்ளலா, அதாவது தன் கூட ட்யூட்டில ஒன்னா ஜாய்ன் பண்ண அதிகாரிகளுக்கெல்லாம், இவரால முடிஞ்சளவுக்கு ஹெல்ப் பண்ணி அவஙக் எல்லாரும் இவருக்கே மேலதிகாரியா படிப்படியா மேல முன்னேறி கடைசில இவருக்கே வந்து ஆப்பு வைப்பாங்க. அப்பக்கூட சைலண்ட்டா சிரிச்சுகிட்டே, வாலண்டரி ரிட்டயர்மெண்ட் கொடுத்துட்டு மிச்ச நாட்கள்ல ட்யூட்டியப் பாத்துகிட்டு, மத்த நேரங்கள்ல ஸ்கூல் பசங்களுக்கு ட்யூசன் எடுத்துகிட்டிருப்பாரு. கொஞ்சம் வெய்ட் பண்ணுங்க. அப்டி ஓரமா போய் நான் ஃபீல் பண்ணிட்டு வந்துட ஷிவதாவப் பத்தி சொல்றேன்.

ஷிவதா - என்னமோ கால்ஷீட் கொடுத்துட்டோம்ங்கற மாதிரியான முகபாவனையில நடிச்ச மாதிரியே ஒரு ஃபீல். அப்புறம் எதையோ தொலைச்ச மாதிரியே மூஞ்சிய வச்சுக்கறாங்க ஏன்னு தெர்ல. அப்புறம் அவரைக் காதலிக்கிற டிமாண்டி காலனி பேயா நடிச்சவர். பேர் தெர்லீங். அவரையும் ஷிவதாவுக்கு ஜோடியாக் காட்டனும்னு என்னென்னமோ டிசைன் டிசைனா தாடியெல்லாம் ஷேவ் பண்ணி ஃப்ரேம்ல நிக்க வச்சாலும், ஒரு பெரிய மனுசன் ஃபீலிங்கே வரல. அப்டி ஒரு சின்னப்புள்ள முகத்த வச்சுகிட்டு எப்டித்தான் ஓ சரி சரி இவர்தான் அந்த டேட்ல ஃப்ரீயா இந்த லொக்கேசன்ல நடிக்க ஆப்ட்டா இருந்திருப்பாரு. விடுங்க.

அடுத்து முக்கியமான விசயம் என்னன்னா, 1995 மற்றும் 1999ல நடக்கற மாதிரி காட்டனும், அவ்வளவுதான் விசயம். எவ்ளோ செமயா காட்டிருக்கலாம். ஆனா, என்னமோ மிஸ்ஸான மாதிரியே ஒரு ஃபீல். இத்தனைக்கும் இது ஒரு கிரைம் திரில்லர் மட்டுமில்லாம, ரிவெஞ்ச் கலந்த ஹூடன்னிட் மற்றும் இரட்டை சைக்கோ கொலைகாரர்கள் கதை. அதை எப்டியெல்லாம் எடுத்திருக்கலாம். ஆனா எப்டியோ எடுத்திருக்காங்க.
